He’s Back
Rocco Baldelli is back, but not for a good reason. Carl Crawford was placed on the 15 day DL because of ligament damage in his hand. The diagnosis is 6 to 8 weeks. The injury could be season ending if he has to have surgery. We can hope he will be back in time for the postseason.

The Rays split series with Royals by losing the last game by Andy Sonnanstine giving up five runs. Carl Crawford got the only RBI on a single. We head north of the boarder needing to take 2 of 3 to try to hold of the surging Yankees.
Probable Pitchers for Blue Jays series:
Mon: James Shields vs. AJ Burnett
Tue: Matt Garza vs. Roy Halladay
Wed: Edwin Jackson vs. John Parrish
Should Rays Pursue Teixiera

If the Braves are willing to deal Mark Texiera, should the Rays pursue him? It would be a very interesting trade for the Rays as it would give them a switch-hitting force in the middle of the lineup. He would split time between playing first and DHing with Carlos Pena. He would be a HUGE improvement from Jonny Gomes and Cliff Floyd, who currently split time at DH. He would be a great help to push us into the playoffs. It would be a costly trade because we would most likely be asked to give up some of our best pitching prospects like Wade Davis, Jake McGee, or Jeremy Hellickson. It may be a price too steep to pay for one push to the playoffs for a team who has great potiental for years to come.
