Does Holliday Make sense for Rays/ Rays vs. A’s Game Thread
There has been rising talk around the majors about the Rays potentially dealing for Matt Holliday. The question is, Does he make sense? It would be a great deal for the Rays to add more power to the lineup if they are able to sign him past this season. The package to get him may have to consist of Wade Davis, who threw seven shutout innings in his debut at AAA, and Jeff Niemann. This may be a hefty price to pay for a half season of Matt Holliday, but would be worth it if he is a Ray for years to come.
Also, there are still talks about pitcher Jon Rauch coming to Tampa Bay. This would be a great add for us. He is a proven closer and can setup for Troy Percival along with Dan Wheeler.

Bring back the concert series for next year. It seems to be a good luck charm.Every concert seems to be a celebration of a win.
Rays News:
Rays Win 6-4 powered by a Garza gem and a Longo grand slam. The problem is our bullpen gave it up. We need to think long and hard about bringing in a bullpen guy.
The Rays, along with the White Sox, sent scouts to Washinton to watch Jon Rauch. He would need a heftier package to bring him to the Trop as he is younger and is locked up for longer time than Fuentes.
